Extra-Curricular Experiences

At Longmoor, we believe that learning doesn't end when the lesson does. Our extra-curricular programme is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and give every child the chance to grow, explore, and discover beyond the classroom.

These experiences are a vital part of our wider curriculum and play a key role in supporting personal development, wellbeing, and character. Whether it's sport, the arts, science, or creative writing, there is something for every child to enjoy and excel in.

A World of Opportunity

Our ever-evolving programme offers a rich mix of clubs, workshops, trips, and performances. Recent opportunities have included:

  • Sports clubs: football, athletics, gymnastics, dance, and multi-sports
  • Creative opportunities: art club, choir, drama performances, and seasonal craft workshops
  • STEM activities: computing, coding and robotics, Mad Science
  • Gardening clubs: encouraging sustainability and outdoor responsibility
  • Fine Motor Skills Club: developing dexterity, coordination, and focus through practical, hands-on activities

Why It Matters

These experiences are about more than just enjoyment - they're about giving every child a sense of belonging, purpose, and possibility. Extra-curricular opportunities help children to:

  • Discover their talents and passions
  • Build their confidence and social skills
  • Put the school's DRIVE values into practice in real-world settings
  • Feel valued and included as part of our Longmoor Family

To ensure every child has equal access, we subsidise fees for children who are entitled to free school meals, helping to remove barriers and open doors to new opportunities.

Education isn't confined to a classroom - it's found in every club, conversation, and challenge we share together.

We are proud of the range and quality of opportunities we offer, and we are always exploring new ways to extend our provision - including through partnerships with local organisations, coaches, artists, and performers.
