Extra-Curricular Experiences

At Longmoor, we believe that learning doesn’t end when the lesson does. Our extra-curricular programme is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and provide every child with the chance to grow, explore and discover beyond the classroom.

These experiences are a vital part of our wider curriculum and play a key role in supporting personal development, wellbeing, and character. Whether it’s sport, the arts, outdoor learning or leadership, there’s something for every child to enjoy and excel in.

A World of Opportunity:

Our ever-evolving offer includes a rich mix of clubs, workshops, trips and performances. Recent experiences have included:

  • Sports clubs: football, athletics, gymnastics, dance, and multi-sports
  • Creative opportunities: art club, choir, drama performances, and seasonal craft workshops
  • STEM activities: computing, coding, construction and engineering challenges
  • Eco and gardening clubs: encouraging sustainability and outdoor responsibility
  • Mindfulness and wellbeing sessions: calm clubs and yoga to support emotional regulation

Residential Visits & Trips

We know that some of the most memorable learning happens outside the school gates. From local community visits to adventurous residentials, we provide children with unforgettable opportunities to build independence, teamwork and resilience - and, of course, to have fun!

Our older pupils enjoy residential stays that challenge and inspire them, developing confidence, friendships and life skills in equal measure.

Why It Matters

These experiences are about more than just enjoyment - they’re about giving every child a sense of belonging, purpose and possibility. Extra-curricular opportunities help children to:

  • Discover their talents and passions
  • Build their confidence and social skills
  • Practice the school’s DRIVE values in real-world settings
  • Feel valued and included as part of our Longmoor Family

Education isn’t confined to a classroom - it’s found in every club, conversation and challenge we share together.

We are proud of the range and quality of opportunities we offer, and we are always exploring new ways to extend our offer further - including through partnerships with local organisations, coaches, artists and performers.
