WISH Curriculum
At Longmoor, we believe that education is about more than academic achievement - it's about preparing our children to lead happy, healthy, safe and fulfilling lives. Our WISH Curriculum brings together all the essential learning that sits beyond the taught subjects - the learning that shapes character, builds resilience, and empowers children to thrive.
WISH stands for:
Wellbeing • Independence • Safeguarding • Health
It is the golden thread that runs through every part of school life - from PSHE and RSE to leadership, values, voice and opportunity.

Why It Matters
Our WISH Curriculum ensures that all children:
- Understand how to keep themselves and others safe
- Know how to form healthy relationships and make good choices
- Learn the importance of respect, responsibility and resilience
- Are empowered to become thoughtful, active and informed citizens of the future
WISH is how we teach the things that really matter.
WISH Focus Days
At our school, WISH Focus Days are an important part of our commitment to personal development, giving students the chance to explore key life themes in a way that goes beyond the traditional curriculum. These are full immersion days filled with engaging activities, inspiring visitors, and thought-provoking challenges that differ from everyday school life.
Each WISH Day focuses on a meaningful theme that supports children's growth:
- Our Year - Setting goals and preparing for success
- Our Differences - Celebrating individuality and promoting inclusion
- Our Futures - Exploring career pathways and aspirations
- Our Wellbeing - Prioritising mental and physical health
- Our Contribution - Understanding our role in the wider community
- Our Next Chapter - Preparing for change and life beyond school
Through hands-on workshops, group challenges, and real-world learning experiences, WISH Days empower students to develop essential life skills, build confidence, and connect more deeply with themselves and others in a vibrant, supportive environment.
