Welcome to Longmoor Community Primary School

Together, we grow, explore, discover.

At Longmoor, we believe in the power of education to transform lives — and in our shared responsibility to ensure every child thrives. We are a welcoming and inclusive learning community where pupils, families, staff and governors work together to create something exceptional.

Safeguarding and care sit at the heart of all we do. Our children know they are safe, valued and listened to. Staff are well trained, vigilant and confident to act when concerns arise, and we work closely with families and external partners to provide early help and specialist support whenever it is needed. Our open culture means parents and carers feel able to share worries and know they will be heard.

We have the highest aspirations for every child, whatever their starting point. Many of our pupils face barriers linked to disadvantage or additional needs, and we respond quickly and effectively: early identification, high-quality inclusive teaching and targeted support help all children — including those with SEND or known to social care — to flourish. Our Pupil Premium strategy is evidence-informed and regularly reviewed to ensure it makes a real difference.

Learning at Longmoor is ambitious, purposeful and inspiring. Our carefully sequenced curriculum builds strong foundational knowledge in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 — particularly in communication and language, reading, writing and mathematics — so that pupils can confidently access the full breadth of subjects as they move through school. Teachers are experts in helping children secure and remember key knowledge and skills, while also developing curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.

This means our pupils consistently achieve above the national average in reading, writing and mathematics and leave Longmoor ready to fly at secondary school.

Character and personal development are as important as academic success. Everything is underpinned by our DRIVE values — Determination, Respect, Integrity, Valour and Excellence. These values are taught, modelled and celebrated daily, shaping the way our pupils think, act and treat others. Our WISH Curriculum (Wellbeing, Independence, Safeguarding and Health) develops resilience, empathy and life skills, and supports children to contribute positively to the community.

We expect excellent attendance and behaviour, and we support families to achieve this. Clear routines, fair rules and respectful relationships create a calm, purposeful atmosphere where learning can flourish. When challenges arise, we work in partnership with parents and professionals so that every child can succeed.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom. Pupils enjoy specialist teaching in music, Spanish, gymnastics and dance; inspiring trips; performances; and opportunities to take on leadership roles. Our modern, well-resourced school — with bright classrooms, superb IT including 1:1 Chromebooks, and a welcoming Early Years wing — gives children the very best start. We also offer extended Nursery hours and wraparound care through Community Family Services to support our families.

As Headteacher, I feel privileged to lead such a vibrant, caring and ambitious school. While this website offers just a snapshot, the best way to experience Longmoor is to see it in action. We warmly invite you to visit and discover the difference our community makes for every child.
