Wellbeing & Mental Health
At Longmoor, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children thrive when they feel safe, happy, and supported - and that positive mental health is the foundation for lifelong success.
We take a whole-school approach to wellbeing, embedding it into our curriculum, daily routines, and relationships. Our staff team is trained to recognise and respond to children’s emotional needs with sensitivity and care. We are proud to create an environment where every child feels valued, listened to, and respected.
Our Approach Includes:
- A nurturing ethos where every child is known, understood, and celebrated for who they are.
- Trauma-informed practices that help us support children with compassion and understanding.
- Wellbeing check-ins and opportunities for children to talk and be heard throughout the day.
- Safe spaces and calming strategies for children who need time to regulate or reset.
- Tailored support through ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants), mental health first aid, and pastoral care.
- Strong partnerships with families, ensuring joined-up support at school and at home.
We also ensure that children learn how to look after their own wellbeing, develop emotional literacy, and build resilience - equipping them to navigate life with confidence and care for others.
We don’t just educate minds; we nurture hearts.
If you have any concerns about your child’s mental health or wellbeing, please speak to a member of our team - we are here to help.
